Double Mountain Brewery
Custom Wordpress Website
Double Mountain is a Hood River staple. They have been crafting unique, complex and delicious beers since 2007. Matt Swihart, the owner, has created a beautiful and welcoming space thats felt by all who visit. Their new website needed to convey the community they’ve created while being cheeky and of course, user friendly.
The Double Audience
Based on research, stakeholder feedback and location data we determined our primary audiences to be “the locals” and “the tourist”. Doubles main taproom is located in beautiful Hood River, Oregon. With a lively local community that they care deeply about, we knew this new website needed to focus on their needs, first and foremost. By simply asking the locals we determined events, whats on tap and ordering food to-go were their main priorities. The second just as important group are the tourists. Hood River is a beautiful place which brings in thousands of visitors each summer. Most of these people have never heard of Double Mountain and are simply search for a place to eat. They need the full picture. Why join us over another restaurant or brewery?
Along with our two core primary personas we created a few more secondary personas, all with unique needs that needed to be met when they landed on the website.
Why Wordpress?
Wordpress allows for complete flexibility and control. With multiple locations, events, merch, beer, and so much more, Double needed a site that was built to be fluid. They wanted a website that felt current, lively and real time. Hours change constantly? We built them a single place in the backend where they go to update the hours, which updates all locations throughout the site. This was just one of many things that made for a scaleable, future proof site.
Check out the Double Mountain website in its full glory and learn about what makes their beer and cider so damn good. And I will die on this hill, the Heirloom pie is the best pizza that has ever been made.
